Jaiyen FAQs

What is cancellation policy at Jaiyen Spa?

When you make a reservation, we block that time exclusively for you. Jaiyen is a small spa with only three massage rooms; therefore cancellations need to be given 24 hours notice prior to your appointment. Any cancellation made less than 24 hours, $25 will be charged on your account. For no show or call within 12 hours, full amount of your treatment you booked will be charged on your account.

Jaiyen requires a valid credit card when you make your reservation.

When should I arrive for my massage?

Jaiyen likes to have customers check in 10 minutes before your appointment so that you have time to check in and relax. If you are having a Traditional Thai massage you can change into loose fitting clothes.

First time visitors should check in 10-15 minutes early so they will have ample time to fill out their intake form.

What if I’m running late for my appointment?

Arriving late may interfere with our ability to provide you with best possible massage experience. We will attempt to make an extension so that you will get your full time, however, if we have another customer scheduled to start immediately after your appointment, your session will be cut short. You will be responsible for payment of the full service. Please be prompt.

What should I tip?

Our massage therapists appreciate gratuities for a job well done. Tips are generally 15-25% or more of the price of the massage service. Tips can be paid in cash after the massage, or can be added to a charge if paying by credit card.

Can I bring my pet or kids?

We love kids and animals, but please leave them at home.

This does not apply to service animals for people with disabilities, which are always welcome.

Where do I keep my valuables and belongings?

Jaiyen Spa is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Valuables are best left at home.   We encourage all clients to check theirs belonging before leaving the spa.

Can I use a cell-phone?

The Jaiyen Spa is a cell phone free facility, to ensure you and other clients are able to completely enjoy your treatments and relax. If you must bring it with you, please turn it off or on a vibration to maintain the peaceful atmosphere of the spa.

How will I feel after the massage or bodywork session?

Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days. Since toxins are released from your soft tissues during a massage, it is recommended you drink plenty of water following your massage.

What are the benefits of massage and bodywork?

Massage and bodywork can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure. Massage and bodywork is also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety and create an overall sense of well-being.

Should I discuss the amount of pressure that I want during my massage?

Yes you should. The different types of massage utilize different amounts of pressure, which can be varied according to your preference. Please communicate with the massage practitioner if you are feeling any discomfort, or if you would like the pressure to be increased. We are here to tend to your needs, so feel comfortable requesting what you want.

What should I wear during a treatment?

When receiving a Traditional Thai Massage, you should wear loose fitting clothes or Jaiyen can provide you with outfits for all sizes.

If you are receiving a massage using oil you should undress to your level of comfort. Most of our clients prefer to be completely undressed, but others are more comfortable keeping their undergarments on during the massage. Your massage therapist will keep your body covered with a blanket and sheet during your session. Only the body part being worked on will be uncovered.

Should I tell my massage therapist about any medical conditions, medications orallergies?

Absolutely. Jaiyen will have you fill out a customer intake form the first time you visit us. It is important for you to indicate any health conditions the therapist should be aware of before you start your massage.

What if I’m pregnant?

It is very important that when booking a massage that you inform our receptionist if  you are pregnant. We can arrange a massage with a practitioner who is specialized with Pregnancy.

We happily accept returns for spa credit ONLY on all products within 7 days of purchase. Gift certificates are non-refundable, but can be transferred to another person or used for different services or products. No exceptions.
